LEONARDO – Center for Creativity and Innovation is an inter-university collaborative project involving the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg, and the Nuremberg University of Music, which emerged from the "Innovative University" funding initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
LEONARDO offers faculty and students at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg a platform for collaborative and transdisciplinary research and work.
LEONARDO provides access to infrastructure and opens up new opportunities for engagement within the artistic and academic community.
LEONARDO offers a diverse range of workshops and outreach programs for students, faculty, and the general public through a constantly evolving program of events.
LEONARDO supports university members in networking with external partners at the regional and national levels and connects artistic projects with research and knowledge areas, methods, and practices outside their own disciplines. Particular emphasis is placed on transdisciplinary engagement with contemporary socio-ecological challenges, technological developments, and discourses.
LEONARDO provides conceptual project support and advice on individual initiatives, and offers access to its own inter-university polytechnic workshops and laboratories. These serve as a central hub for the Academy, where ideas can be developed, tested, pursued, and successfully implemented. Our workshop leaders introduce the machines and equipment and answer questions about the facilities and LEONARDO. Contact
LEONARDO opens up new pathways from the academic sphere to everyday artistic practice, as well as new fields of work and avenues for professional development for young artists, and works closely with the Art – Transfer – Practice program in this regard.
