Mateusz Phouthavong is a lecturer, systemic coach, and vocalist. He studied jazz singing (B.Mus.) at the University of Music Würzburg and music education/concert pedagogy (M.A.) at the University of Augsburg. This was followed by a master's degree in art-based coaching at the Medical School Hamburg and certified further training in systemic coaching (DGSF).
He worked full-time as a musician for many years—including as a member of the a cappella band VIVA VOCE—and realized numerous artistic projects in the fields of music education, sound art, and interdisciplinary concert formats. These include the sound installations Musik berührt, Stadt:Klang, and so_und:now?!. Concert performances have taken him to renowned stages and festivals in German-speaking countries. He has worked with Rolf Zuckowski, Edith Jeske, Thorsten Wingenfelder, Bodo Wartke, and the Latvian Voices, among others.
At the same time, he has worked as a lecturer, educational consultant, and project coordinator in various university and association contexts, including at FAU Erlangen, the University of Music Würzburg, and the federal funding program Neustart Amateurmusik.
