The degree in Visual Arts at the AdBK Nuremberg is organized in different artistic classes, depending on the course. The first semesters of study are accompanied by the so-called basic teaching (basic class / teaching the general design fundamentals - Prof. Eva von Platen-Hallermund). In contrast to this, the degree course in Art Education is modularized. The art-related sciences (art history, art theory and art education, general cultural studies, design-related sciences, art and economics) as well as the study workshops accompany the training.
Live Art Forms is a non-consecutive, advanced master’s course geared towards art practice.
A prerequisite for studying at the academy is a pronounced artistic and creative talent for the chosen subject. The academy's professors therefore offer portfolio advice for prospective students. You are welcome to arrange individual appointments directly with the lecturer! Participation in portfolio advice is not a prerequisite for a successful application.
Advice on application and admission conditions for all areas of study is provided Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Secretary’s Office at the Academy, Bingstr. 60, 90480 Nuremberg [Tel. +49 911/94040]. Furthermore, course and portfolio guidance is offered by the professors every semester. The guidance day dates are posted regularly on the Academy homepage.
