We gladly accept applications for the Liberal Arts , Art Education programs as well as for the Live Art Forms program from March 15 to April 15  2026.


Applications are submitted via the online application portal, which is activated at the beginning of the application phase.

 

Transfer students (art universities in Germany and the EU) for the degree programs Diplom Bildende Kunst and Lehramt Kunst am Gymnasium can can apply to start their studies in the summer semester of 2026 until January 15, 2026.
Visiting students can apply to start their studies in the 2026 summer semester until March 31, 2026.

The Fine Arts program at the AdBK Nuremberg is organized into different artistic classes depending on the degree track. The first semesters of study are accompanied by what is known as foundational instruction (foundational class / instruction in general design principles).

In contrast, the Art Education degree track (teaching certification for high schools – art specialization) is organized into modules. The arts-related disciplines (Art History, Art Theory and Art Education, General Cultural Studies, Design-Related Sciences, Art and Business) as well as the studio workshops support the training.

The Live Art Forms program is a practice-oriented, non-sequential, continuing education master’s program.

A prerequisite for studying at the Academy is a distinct artistic and creative aptitude for the chosen specialization. The Academy’s professors therefore offer portfolio reviews for prospective students. You are welcome to schedule individual appointments directly with the faculty! Participation in the portfolio review is not a prerequisite for a successful application.
