Fine arts study at the Academy of Fine Arts (AdBK) Nuremberg is not conducted in modules. Under the guidance of a professor, students in different semesters are organised in classes and enjoy the greatest possible freedom to organise their own timetables for working in the studios and workshops and attending seminars and lectures. In the initial semesters a foundation course prepares students for study. After a maximum of 12 semesters, study is completed with a diploma.

The degree Diplom in the academic freedom of a non-modularized course of study corresponds to the basic understanding of the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg to be a free space for the development of theoretical and practical skills.

The study Diploma in Fine Arts at the AdBK Nürnberg is organized in different artistic classes depending on the course of study. The first semesters of study are accompanied by the so-called Basislehre (basic class / teaching of general design basics - Prof. Eva von Platen-Hallermund).

In contrast, the art education course (teaching profession at grammar schools - specialization in art) is modularized. The arts-related sciences (art history, art theory and art education, general cultural studies, design-related sciences, art and business) and the study workshops accompany the training.

The Live Art Forms program is an art practice-oriented, non-consecutive, advanced master's degree program.

Precondition for studying at the Academy is an artistic-creative talent for the chosen field of study. The professors at the Academy therefore offer portfolio consultations for prospective students. You are welcome to make individual appointments with the teachers! Participation in the portfolio consultation is not a prerequisite for a successful application.
