Vitrine der AdBK Nürnberg

Leave it all as it was
The key, I only lent you for a fleeting moment
Keep it cold in the cellar
Blank spaces with names I can no longer recall
Dusty and cold. Maybe, with one gust, they will all be gone
Grip it with your nails
See what remains between your bony feet
Empty archives, hollow spaces—now everything feels as light as fog
hovering over a cold German countryside
What lingers feels weightless
It all dissolves with one wind
But this Sunday, I’ll wear my best blouse,
And you... you’ll button a shirt

In her installations, Antonia Kirschner explore remnants and their loneliness. Traces of love and loss intertwine with a romanticized bureaucracy, where debt and contracts are entangled with tradition, expectation, and emotional ties. Objects that are pretending to be something they are not—flattened, anonymized versions of reality, stripped of their original context and placed on display. Through ceramic, fabric, and paper, she examines how these artifacts distort familiar narratives, inviting a closer look at what we accept as real.
