Viktoria Binschtok untersucht in ihren fotografischen Arbeiten zirkulierende Bilder unserer globalisierten Welt. 
Durch vielseitige Aneignungsstrategien überführt sie gefundenes Bildmaterial aus den unterschiedlichsten Quellen in neue Sinnzusammenhänge, die einen ungewohnten Blick auf die aktuelle Bildkultur erlauben. In seriellen und installativen Werkgruppen thematisiert sie den dynamischen Status des Mediums Fotografie und seine permanente Wechselwirkung zwischen Online- und Offline-Räumen.

 

Viktoria Binschtok, 1972 in Moskau geboren, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Sie studierte (1995 – 2005) Medienkunst und Fotografie an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig und war Meisterschülerin bei Prof. Timm Rautert. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Ausstellungen im In- und Ausland gezeigt, u.a. Museum Folkwang Essen (solo), Centre Pompidou Paris, Franfurter Kunstverein, C/O Berlin (solo), Pinakothek der Moderne München, Kunstmuseum Bonn (solo) und Fondazione Prada Milan.

 

Im Sommersemester 2021 betreut sie die Klasse von Prof. Katja Eydel an der AdBK Nürnberg.
