As part of the seminar- and workshop series Porous Bodies – On Interdependence and the Illusion of Autonomy, which takes place in cooperation with the Kassel Art Academy, Deborah Ligorio will give a lecture on her artistic practice at the AdBK Nuremberg.
Deborah Ligorio is an Italian artist and designer based in Berlin.
Her art practice brings together technological, ecological and feminist approaches.
Her works have been shown and performed in events, group and solo exhibitions at institutions including: Urbane Künste Ruhr (2021), Savvy Contemporary (Berlin 2017), Neue Nationalgalerie (Berlin 2014), ICA (London 2013), Hangar Bicocca (Milan 2009), Manifesta7 (2008), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin 2007).
She was awarded the 15th Quadriennale di Roma Young Art Prize (2008), and Italian Studio Program: Fondo Speciale Italre - GAI (2004). International residencies include: FPAC (Palermo 2011), OMI International Arts Center (Ghent, New York 1998), MAK Schindler (Los Angeles 2003).
