Juergen Teller, der von 2014 bis 2019 Professor für Fotografie an der AdBK Nürnberg war, kehrt nach sieben Jahren mit der Ausstellung Where we come from ins Kunstpalais Erlangen zurück. Für seine bisher persönlichste Schau lädt der frühere Akademie Professor drei ehemalige Schüler*innen ein. In drei Workshops geben die Künstler*innen David Häuser, Anna Hofmann und Lilly Urbat Einblicke in ihre Arbeit und eröffnen jeweils auf ganz eigene Art und Weise neue Zugänge zur Fotografie. 


In seiner aktuellen Ausstellung im Kunstpalais steht Kellers Kernfamilie - er selbst, seine Frau Dovile Drizyte und seine jüngste Tochter Iggy – im Umfeld ihrer jeweiligen Herkunft. In den Fotos seines Elternhauses in Bubenreuth und des Frankenwalds und denen der Heimatstadt seiner Frau, Kaunas in Litauen, fängt Teller erstaunliche Parallelen zwischen beiden Orten ein.


Where we come from verkörpert Tellers Sinn für Ehrlichkeit und Vertrauen - in seine Themen, seine Arbeit, seine Familie und seine Einstellung zum Leben.
