Broken Time. And the World is Made Again by What it Forgets
Museum of Contemporary Art - Skopje

AdBK Prof. Syowia Kyambi is part of the collection presentation Broken Time. And the World is Made Again by What it Forgets, which can be seen from November 29 at the Museum of Contemporary Art - Skopje. In addition to Syowia Kyambi, Inas Halabi, Ivana Sidjimovska, Ala Younis and Carla Zaccagnini are taking part in the exhibition.

Prof. Syowia Kyambi has been a visiting professor at the AdBK Nuremberg since November 2023. The visiting professorship is funded by the Top Professorship Program (SPP) of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts.

The group exhibition Broken Time. And the World is Made Again by What it Forgets shows a selection of works from the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art - Skopje, some of which have rarely or never been exhibited before. Most of the works are by artists who, from the perspective of a Eurocentric “geopolitics of knowledge”, are understood as the “peripheries” of the world or who are connected to these regions.

Broken Time focuses on the task of heritage and opens up a space for artworks, stories and spirits that have not yet been exhibited in the same way. In doing so, the group show presents possible future readings of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art - Skopje, which are inevitably haunted by the past.
