As part of the 5th-anniversary celebrations of the Deutschen Museums Nuremberg, the installation Prophecies by AdBK students Elena Horlau, Robin Breca and Franz Gläser (Ohm) is on display as part of the accompanying programme for the Zukunftsmuseum.
The project was funded during the 2025/26 winter semester through the OPEN CALL by the LEONARDO-Zentrums für Kreativität und Innovation.
Prophecies confronts visitors with the primal human longing for certainty in an unstable world. It bridges the gap between the ancient oracle and the modern black box of artificial intelligence. The project is set against a backdrop of upheaval: artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, make decisions and trust one another. Caught between automation and new agency, between surveillance and connectivity, between the disappearance of old belief systems and the emergence of technocratic promises, we find ourselves in a tension between euphoria and uncertainty.
At the heart of the work lies a dialogical ritual: in a personal interview, the oracle questions its visitors — and generates an individual prophecy from their responses.
