For nearly two decades, Peter Ochs, as Chancellor, played a key role in guiding and shaping the expansion of our academy through very different stages of development.

On behalf of the entire university community and the university administration, we extend our heartfelt thanks to him.

 
In addition to his responsibility for the administration and financial affairs of the Academy, he collaborated with the academic self-governing bodies and contributed to strategic and organizational decisions. Peter Ochs consistently fulfilled these duties with dedication, diligence, and reliability.
 

His tenure included numerous construction and infrastructure projects, such as the acquisition of the former Gobelin factory as a media lab for the Academy, the new building for art education and theoretical instruction, and, most recently, the temporary facility—the planning and implementation of which he oversaw and was responsible for as the Academy’s construction manager. In doing so, he made a significant contribution to the continuous development of the framework conditions for student studies, teaching, and artistic work.
 

Across multiple terms of office and changes in the presidency and university leadership, Peter Ochs remained a constant as chancellor. With consistency, prudence, and reliability, he played a key role in guiding the administrative structures of our university.

He has also shared his experience and expertise beyond the confines of our own art college. Colleagues, as well as the leadership of other art colleges and institutions, have valued and continue to value him as a knowledgeable point of contact for questions regarding college administration and management. His willingness to engage in dialogue and share his experience has been recognized far beyond the walls of our own institution.
 

His decision to step down from the office of Chancellor marks the end of a long period of responsible service.
We are all the more pleased that Peter Ochs will remain connected to our academy and will continue to contribute his experience and extensive knowledge in staff positions.

We thank him most sincerely for his steadfast commitment and his dedication to our academy. 
We wish Peter Ochs all the best, good health, and well-being in the time ahead.
