The MIRACL (Music Interaction Research / Audio Creation Lab) focuses on audio production and music-related research.
The two studio spaces feature professional interior acoustics, specialized audio workstations, and reference speakers in various open surround formats. One of the rooms is additionally equipped with a Steinway Spirio | R grand piano, while the other features a soundproof recording booth.

A wide selection of analog, digital, and acoustic musical instruments, as well as various microphones, high-end preamps, EQs, and compressors, form the foundation for high-quality music production, innovative research, and creative experimentation.

This makes the MIRACL ideal for:

  • Recording speech, vocals, and instruments

  • Post-production: editing, mixing, and mastering

  • Music production: e.g., for public presentations, movie trailers, educational films, web content, games, and VR implementations with 3D audio

  • Research: e.g., artistic research with the Steinway Spirio | R grand piano, visualization of sound measurements, development of software tools for virtualization, measurements on audio engineering equipment

  • Workshops on music production and audio engineering

In addition, basic sound reinforcement equipment is available.
